Buraq Air (UZ, Tripoli International) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus to order ten new A320-200Ns in what would become the airline's first-ever direct commitment for new aircraft.

The agreement disclosed during the Dubai Airshow does not include any details about a delivery timeline.

Buraq Air currently operates three A320-200s. It has also recently taken delivery of its first E190, although the aircraft is not yet in revenue service.

The airline could become Libya's first A320neo operator. Libyan Wings signed an MoU with the manufacturer for four A320neo in 2013, but has not firmed it yet. State-owned airline Afriqiyah Airways told ch-aviation in 2023 that it was planning to order A320neo, but has likewise not formalised the commitment just yet.
