Loganair (LM, Glasgow International) has wet-leased an ATR72-500 from DAT (Denmark) (DX, Kolding) to cover its own routes in Scotland after it moved an in-house ATR72-600 to Jersey, having taken over routes from bankrupt Blue Islands.

OY-RUA (msn 822) was ferried from Copenhagen Kastrup to Aberdeen Dyce on November 17 and began operating on behalf of Loganair the day after.

"Over the coming three weeks, we will be connecting Aberdeen, Dublin International, and Sumburgh (Shetland), enabling Loganair to continue operations in Jersey, despite the unfortunate bankruptcy of Blue Islands," the Danish airline said in a statement.

The wet-lease, arranged at short notice and supported by two full crew sets now based out of Aberdeen, allows Loganair to continue deploying its ATR72-600, G-LMTJ (msn 1126), on routes from Jersey to Guernsey, Southampton, and Exeter. All three routes were previously operated by Blue Islands. The Channel island's local government awarded Loganair GBP1.5 million pounds (USD2 million) to assume the services once Blue Islands stopped operations on November 14.

Loganair's fleet comprises ten ATR72-600s, among other types. Except for the single aircraft repositioned to Jersey, one more is currently under maintenance at Sofia, and the remaining eight continue operating Loganair's scheduled services out of its Scottish bases and Isle of Man.
