Pivot Airlines (ZX, Toronto Pearson) has entered into “a committed agreement” with Avmax Aircraft Leasing for the lease-purchase of C-FHHD (msn 578), a DHC-8-Q300 currently under heavy maintenance at Calgary, Pivot’s chief executive Eric Edmonson said on social media.
The turboprop is scheduled to join Pivot Airlines’ fleet in March 2026. It will be linked to the company’s partnership with Air Charter Service, and “will initially support essential and emergency missions, fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) logistics, various government operations, and our growing B2C ad-hoc retail charter business,” he added.
It will be Pivot’s first DHC-8-Q300. Its fleet currently comprises two CRJ200s and one DHC-8-100. According to the Canadian aircraft registry, since October 23, 2025, the company also owns a DHC-8-300, C-GJCN (msn 416).
C-FHHD is a 24-year-old aircraft with capacity for 50 passengers. It flew for Sunstate Airlines between 2001 and 2009 and for Eastern Australia Airlines between 2009 and 2025.
