In an SEC filing, air taxi developer Archer Aviation (Palo Alto) disputes and says it intends to "vigorously defend itself" against alleged trade secret theft by fellow-eVTOL developer Joby Aviation (Monterey/Carmel) (legal name Joby Aero Inc.). This follows a lawsuit filed by Joby Aviation in the Superior Court of California in Santa Cruz County on November 18 against Archer Aviation and former employee George Kivork. The complaint alleges that Kivork stole confidential files, including the details of an exclusive Joby partnership, before joining Archer, which then allegedly used this information to undermine Joby’s deal with a major real estate developer. Joby is seeking damages to be determined at a jury trial and an injunction to stop further alleged misuse of its intellectual property in what it calls "corporate espionage in the emerging eVTOL market". ch-aviation has contacted Archer Aviation for comment.
