Bristow Group has placed an order with a pre-delivery payment agreement with electric short-take-off-and-landing (eSTOL) manufacturer Electra.aero, securing the first five delivery slots of the hybrid-electric EL9 Ultra Short aircraft. The agreement includes option rights for an additional 45 units. Bristow first signed a MOU to jointly develop and induct 50 concept Electra.aero aircraft in 2021.

The EL9, which began FAA certification in December 2025, is expected to carry nine passengers or 3,000 pounds (1,360 kilogrammes) of cargo for 330 nautical miles (611 kilometres), with take-off and landing capability on runways as short as 150 feet (45 metres).
