The UK Department of Transport has awarded GBP1.5 million pounds (USD2 million) to the Scottish Electric Aviation Network (SEAN), a consortium led by Bristow Helicopters (BHL, Aberdeen Dyce), to conduct electric aircraft demonstration flights in Scotland using Beta Technologies ALIA CX300 aircraft. The consortium also includes Beta, Electric Aviation Maven, Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL), Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS), and Skyports Infrastructure. This follows a recent order by Loganair, which plans to also use the CX300 for regional flights in Scotland.
