Sundown Jet (San Fernando, AR) has added a first Learjet 40XR, the company announced on social media. Chief executive Federico Giménez told ch-aviation the aircraft was added to maintain the continuity of the Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 series within the fleet.

The 2008-built aircraft, LV-GQW (msn 45-2110), seats up to seven passengers. Imported into Argentina in late 2016, the jet was privately operated until now. On January 29, the aircraft was ferried between Wichita Eisenhower, where it had been parked since January 2025, and San Fernando, AR, where it is now based, with stops at Fort Lauderdale Executive and Cali.

This Learjet 40XR joins two other Learjet aircraft in Sundown Jet's fleet, including a Learjet 45(XR) and a Learjet 45XR, alongside a United States-registered G550, which the carrier used to launch Gulfstream Aerospace operations in mid-2025. Sundown Jet further operates two Beech (twin turboprop)s, namely a King Air B200 and a King Air B350, as well as a Cessna (single turboprop) C208B Grand Caravan.

Looking ahead, Giménez said Sundown Jet is considering the addition of a second G550 and is working on a project to build a new hangar at San Fernando.
