Ryanair Holdings announced on March 20, 2026, that it will invest GBP40 million pounds (USD53.5 million) in the expansion of its Glasgow Prestwick maintenance facility, just days after the airline inaugurated its largest in-house MRO centre to date at Madrid Barajas. A new 11,938-square-metre, four-bay hangar will be constructed at the Prestwick facility, alongside additional component workshops. This will bring the total number of bays at the location to ten, making it the low-cost carrier's biggest heavy maintenance hangar. The expansion will further generate 450 jobs, including 60 apprenticeships. In October 2024, Ryanair unveiled an engineering training academy at Prestwick.
