Turkish Airlines' acquisition of a 25-27% stake in Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) has been approved by Spain's council of ministers. The decision follows a favourable report issued by Spain's foreign investment board in May. Turkish Airlines' bid for a minority stake in Air Europa was formalised in November 2025 with a EUR300 million (USD347 million) investment. The acquisition now awaits approval from the European Commission. It was earlier reported that Brussels had yet to begin its review of the investment. Türkiye's flag carrier nevertheless expects the deal to be finalised by the end of 2026.
