Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has signed lease agreements with AerCap for two B777-300(ERSF)s, set to become the first of the variant in the flag carrier's fleet.

The two unidentified jets are scheduled for delivery between March and September 2027, according to the lessor. Before then, the aircraft will undergo conversion at Etihad Engineering's maintenance facility at Abu Dhabi International.

According to ch-aviation data, Turkish Airlines currently operates twelve B777-200Fs and ten A330-200Fs. The airline also awaits five A350Fs, yet to be delivered. Additionally, the carrier wet leases six freighters, comprising two A310-300(F)s and two A330-300(P2F)s from ULS Airlines Cargo, one A321-200(P2F) from BBN Airlines Türkiye, and one B747-400F from Atlas Air.

As ch-aviation previously reported, Turkish Airlines outlined plans in 2023 to double its cargo capacity by 2033, including through potential passenger-to-freighter conversions. It subsequently ordered four additional factory-built B777-200Fs in July 2024.

AerCap delivered the first B777-300(ERSF) to Kalitta Air in September 2025. The lessor has since delivered aircraft to Fly Meta and signed lease agreements for the variant with Ethiopian Airlines and China Southern Air Cargo.
