Aurigny Air Services (GR, Guernsey) chief executive Nico Bezuidenhout has questioned whether the island airline should be expected to be profitable considering the role it plays for the community. "Where 70% of activity is now on lifeline services, it becomes debatable whether or not break-even is the correct and right mandate," he said. This comes after Aurigny posted a GBP6.3 million pound (USD8.5 million) loss in 2025, a marginal improvement over 2024. The result was burdened by spiralling lease costs, staff expenditures, and the cost of network expansion at a short notice following the bankruptcy of Blue Islands in late 2025.
