Airbus and Air Astana (KC, Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev) are in negotiations over a joint maintenance project that would provide services to third parties, Airbus Europe president, Johan Pélissier said. If successful, the project could result in an establishment of an Airbus aircraft maintenance and repair centre in the country.

The Kazakh airline already performs heavy maintenance on its own fleet and on the fleet of sister carrier FlyArystan (FS, Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev), ch-aviation data shows.
