Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) has received a regulatory green light to open a branch in Libya as it prepares to launch operations from the country. The branch will allow the airline to complete the necessary operational procedures to resume flights to the North African country. Qatar and the internationally recognised Libyan government of national unity in Tripoli have been discussing plans to relaunch air services between the two countries since earlier this year, with expectations that they may start from October. No schedules have been filed by Qatar Airways for Libya operations.
