ASL Airlines Australia (PH, Sydney Bankstown) will add four incremental B737-800(BCF)s as parent ASL Aviation Holdings expands its operations in Australia and New Zealand, according to a social media post.

ASL said the aircraft had already been identified, with some to transfer from its existing European fleet to the Australian carrier's certificate. The first aircraft is expected to arrive in Australia "within weeks", with the full transfer programme to progress over the coming months.

The group said the additional aircraft would strengthen ASL Airlines Australia's existing B737-800(BCF) network and support further expansion across the two countries.

ASL Airlines Australia recently started operating at the new Sydney Western airport, flying for Qantas Freight. The fleet expansion also comes as the ACMI provider pursues further growth in New Zealand through its proposed acquisition of the freight businesses of Airwork Group.

According to ch-aviation data, ASL Airlines Australia operates a fleet of 10 aircraft, comprising two B737-800(BCF)s, one BAe 146-200, four BAe 146-200(QT)s, and three BAe 146-300(QT)s. Other ASL Group airlines globally operate, among other types, B737-400(SF)s, B747-400Fs, ATR72-500(F)s, B767-300ER(BCF)s, and B737-800s.
