French Polynesia's government has proposed lending XPF8.5 billion CFP francs (USD82.9 million) to Air Tahiti Nui (TN, Papeete) to refurbish the cabins of its four B787-9s, subject to approval by the territorial assembly. The programme would overhaul all three cabins, improve in-flight connectivity, and increase business class capacity from 30 to 38 seats. The retrofit is planned from late 2028 into 2029, with XPF300 million (USD2.9 million) expected to be disbursed in 2026 and the remainder in 2027-2028.
