Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) has reportedly halted construction on an aircraft engine repair plant after investing around RUB2.7 billion rubles (USD32 million). The project was stopped after the airline's board declined to approve it, with RUB1.6 billion (USD19 million) spent on construction and more than RUB1 billion (USD11.9 million) on equipment. The facility was being developed through AeroTrustTechnics, Aeroflot Group's engine maintenance unit. The company received certification for specified CFM International CFM56 work in October 2025. Aeroflot had planned capacity of up to 70 engine overhauls annually.
