The United States Department of Transportation has invited bids for essential air service (EAS) at Alaskan airports Angoon, Elfin Cove, Pelican, and Tenakee Springs for a new term beginning February 1, 2027. Proposals are due by October 1, 2026.

The tender seeks 10x weekly roundtrips at Angoon during the 18-week peak season and 5x weekly off-peak; 7x weekly and 3x weekly, respectively, at Tenakee Springs; and 5x weekly and 2x weekly, respectively, at Elfin Cove; and 6x weekly year-round at Pelican. Incumbent operator Alaska Seaplanes (J5, Juneau International) serves all four from Juneau with Cessna (single piston) 206s, Cessna (single turboprop) 208s, and DHC-2s under a contract expiring January 31, 2027.
