Air India (AI, Delhi International) has been approached by the government of New South Wales about operating to Sydney Western airport, with premier Chris Minns meeting airline representatives in New Delhi on September 1, 2026. No agreement has been reached for now, but Minns said the state could consider targeted financial incentives through its aviation attraction fund to secure an Indian carrier at the airport. Sydney Western is scheduled to open to passenger traffic on October 25.
