Amazon.com has paused its charter operations with cargo carrier 21 Air (2I, Greensboro Piedmont Triad International), which operated B767-300ER(BDSF) N1997A (msn 27310) that overran the runway at Miami International on September 6, 2026, resulting in the deaths of five people on the ground. "We've spent time supporting the investigation and reviewing some of the surrounding circumstances, and we've decided to pause our operations with 21 Air, the operator of Flight 7598. We'll continue working to support the investigation, and everyone affected," an Amazon spokesperson said.

21 Air, in a statement to ch-aviation, said it was confident in its safety policies, procedures, and training. "We remain focused on supporting the families and loved ones who were impacted by this accident, as well as working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board and all our partners, like Amazon, as the investigation continues." 21 Air began operations for Amazon.com in 2024, followed in 2025 by a dedicated South American route between Miami International and Bogotá.
