Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) has sold its last three B767-300ERs to US-based Cobra Aviation (United States of America) for part-out as it prepares to retire the type, the airline confirmed to ch-aviation.

"The first aircraft (OE-LAZ) is scheduled to be ferried to the United States during October. The other two aircraft will follow toward the end of the year. The purchase price has not been disclosed by mutual agreement. As things stand, the last scheduled flight operated by a Boeing 767 for Austrian Airlines will land at Vienna airport on December 1, 2026," a spokesperson for the carrier confirmed.

Aged between 26 and 27.8 years, OE-LAZ (msn 30331), OE-LAY (msn 29867), and OE-LAE (msn 30383) currently operate on Austrian's North American routes to Washington Dulles, Boston, and Montréal Trudeau, according to ADS-B data. They accommodate 211 passengers in a three-class cabin of 157 in economy, 30 in premium economy, and 24 in business class, ch-aviation data reveal.

All three aircraft were acquired new between 1998 and 2000 by Lauda Air, which was formerly absorbed by Austrian Airlines in 2012. The three were operated by Tyrolean Airways in 2012 and transferred to Austrian when the regional carrier merged into the flag carrier in 2015.

ch-aviation data show that OE-LAY was also operated by now-defunct Spanair (2001) and then Condor (2004), while OE-LAZ temporarily joined the Condor fleet in 2003.

In total, Austrian Airlines operated six B767-300ERs, according to ch-aviation data, of which one, OE-LAT (msn 25273), was acquired new by Martinair (Netherlands) in 1991 and eventually scrapped at Marana in December 2021. The remaining two, OE-LAW (msn 26417) and OE-LAX (msn 27095), were acquired new by Lauda Air in 1992 and scrapped at St. Athan and Oscoda in 2022.
