State-owned Korea Development Bank has yet to decide on a possible sale of its 10.6% stake in Hanjin KAL, parent of Korean Air (KE, Seoul Incheon), as the carrier prepares to absorb Asiana Airlines (OZ, Seoul Incheon) on December 17, 2026. KDB said it did not consider its aviation industry restructuring mandate fulfilled and had made no decision on the timing or method of a disposal. Hanjin Group chairman Cho Won-tae and related parties own 20.6% of Hanjin KAL, narrowly ahead of Hoban Group's 20.2%. Delta Air Lines holds another 14.9% and is considered an ally of Cho.
