Air India (AI, Delhi International) has broken ground on a new multi-facility maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangar at Delhi International, the airline announced.
The facility will cover nine acres and will be able to accommodate one widebody and one narrowbody aircraft at the same time. It will bring key engineering and maintenance activities under the airline’s direct oversight. Air India said the project will boost its in-house maintenance capabilities, improve fleet reliability, and support a stronger Indian aviation ecosystem. It also expects the improved maintenance efficiency to lead to better operational performance and a more reliable passenger experience.
