Voluxis Malta (VMT) has secured Maltese AOC #MT-90 on October 22 with a Global 7500, in line with plans outlined to ch-aviation by senior commercial director Gavin Copus in an exclusive interview during Air Charter Expo 2026 at Biggin Hill, England, in September.
Following certification, Voluxis CEO Warren Gravell said the Maltese AOC was a response to customer demand. “Malta is our first EASA AOC and allows free movement around Europe, maximising our charter capabilities.”
As Copus outlined to ch-aviation, Voluxis Malta's first aircraft is a 2023-built Global 7500, registered in the country as 9H-ZAM (msn 70172) in October. Configured for up to 16 passengers, the ultra-long-range jet has yet to enter service. This Global 7500 was previously registered in San Marino as T7-ZAM and operated by Voluxis San Marino out of Dubai World Central.
Voluxis San Marino's fleet currently comprises a Challenger 350, a newly added Citation Mustang, and a G550. In the United Kingdom, Voluxis manages a Hawker 850XP, a Legacy 500, and a Praetor 600.
Maltese plans
Gravell added that Voluxis had been building a complete offering for aircraft owners with multiple AOCs. “We see Malta as an important part of our aircraft management strategy. Our clients have the choice between the United Kingdom, San Marino, and now Malta, to register their aircraft, with each AOC having a slightly different list of benefits.”
In the interview with ch-aviation, Copus outlined plans for a 15- to 20-aircraft fleet within the next five years for Voluxis Malta, with two to three jets added annually and a focus on charter-oriented aircraft in the super-light segment and above.
“Our goal is to have pools of three to five aircraft, covering around three to four types. We're interested in charter workhorses such as the Citation XLS and Phenom 300, through to the Legacy 500, Praetor 600, Challenger 605, and the Global series,” he said, noting that smaller jets currently have limited commercial potential.
Voluxis Malta will initially target European-based owners, with Germany, Scandinavia, and Spain identified as markets offering strong potential.
