Kenya Airways (KQ, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) has chosen Amsterdam Schiphol and London Heathrow as its launch destinations for its first B777-300ER, due to arrive in Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta in late September/October. Its flagship route, Nairobi-London Heathrow, will see 777-300(ER) service from November 4 while Nairobi-Amsterdam will begin on November 8. The 777-300(ER) is part of Kenya Airways’ 10 year strategic expansion plan, Project Mawingu, which has provision for nine B787-8s and four more E190s and is financed by an African Export-Import Bank loan facility. Kenya Airways has a total of four B777-300(ER)s on order.
