Eastar Jet (ZE, Seoul Gimpo) has announced the retirement of its only B737-600, HL7781 (msn 28302), leaving just five operators of the type left in the world: Air Algérie (AH, Algiers), SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup), Tunisair (TU, Tunis), URS Federal Services (Las Vegas Harry Reid) and WestJet (WS, Calgary). Designed as a replacement for the B737-500 and a competitor to the A318-100, the 737-600 sold just sixty-nine of the aircraft. As of 2012, Boeing has removed the 737-600 from its aircraft price list, presumably indicating the variant is now out of production.
