Brindabella Airlines (Canberra) and Aeropelican (Newcastle Lake Macquarie) have completed their merger as of June 24 with the new entity trading under the Brindabella Airlines name and based out of Canberra. Aeropelican's fleet of three Jetstream 32s will be rebranded as Brindabella Airlines and marketed under the FQ flight designator, though the airline's association with Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) will be maintained. In addition, codeshare service flights with Qantas commenced effective July 1 with QF flight numbers being placed on Brindabella Airlines services between Sydney and Moree, Sydney and Newcastle Lake Macquarie, Brisbane International and Tamworth, and Brisbane and Coffs Harbour.
