Alas Uruguay (Montevideo Carrasco) has changed its name from the previously announced Alas-U (Montevideo Carrasco) ahead of a possible relaunch of operations. The successor of PLUNA (Montevideo Carrasco) set-up by the carrier's former workers has picked former civil aviation authority head Daniel Olmedo as its general director and plans to resume operations with three of PLUNA's CRJ900s in 2014 employing approximately 250 of its previous staff.
