TAP Portugal (Lisbon) has suspended its 3x weekly flights to the capital of Guinea Bissau, Bissau, with immediate effect. The suspension was brought on by an incident on December 9 in which the airline's crew were reportedly "forced by local authorities" to carry 74 Syrian refugees on flight TP202 to Lisbon, Portugal. TAP says services will only resume once a thorough assessment of the airport's security procedures has been undertaken. The refugees, who included pregnant women and children, used fake Turkish passports and have now sought political asylum in the country, Portugal News says. Officials in West Africa have said there will be an investigation into the incident.
