Scoot (TR, Singapore Changi) plans to retire its fleet of six B777-200(ER)s by the middle of next year. According to Australia's Business Traveller, the B777s will be replaced as and when the airline's fleet of B787-8s and B787-9s begin arriving. In the Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) 2013/14 Financial Report, the airline highlighted its ambition to become the world's first all-B787 operator.
Scoot expects to take delivery of its first B787-9 in November this year with one additional aircraft to be delivered each month between February and June 2015. Thereafter, the first B787-8s will begin arriving.
The LCC has not yet named its planned inaugural B787 destination, stating instead that initial routes will "include Australia, Japan and Taiwan".
