US-Bangla Airlines (BS, Dhaka) launched scheduled operations on July 16 with twice daily flights from Dhaka to Chittagong and a daily service Jessore. With two DHC-8-400s in the start-up's fleet, US-Bangla intends to double its flights next month before adding Cox's Bazar and Sylhet to its route network.
The carrier is backed by the US-Bangla Group which has interests in real estate, leather-bondage products, pharmaceuticals and furniture.
