Estelar Latinoamerica (Caracas Simón Bolivar) is set to resume scheduled operations next month following consultations with the Venezuelan civil aviation authority (Instituto de Aeronáutica Civil - INAC).
In a statement to ch-aviation, the carrier said its Quality and Safety, Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Operations department all met with their respective counterparts in INAC to clear up any lingering concerns about the carrier's safety and maintenance oversight procedures.
Once all measures and standards have been inspected and passed off, the airline should be able to resume flights in February, owner Peter Hellebrand said.
Prior to INAC revoking its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) in November last year, the carrier had operated a fleet of four B737-200Advs and one B737-300 on scheduled flights throughout Venezuela as well as charter flights to Colombia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
