China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) has inaugurated the recently commissioned Ninglang Airport in the northeast of Lijiang, Yunnan province. The carrier began offering weekly scheduled flights to Kunming Changshui on-board B737-700 aircraft with effect from Monday, October 12.

During this quarter, China expects to open two more domestic airports: Rizhao Shanzihe Airport in Shandong province, eastern China, will commence operations later next month while Wutaishan Airport, a former People's Liberation Army Air Force (CKJ, Beijing Nanyuan) air base in Dingxiang County in China's central Shanxi Province, is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
