American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) is planning to set up a major aircraft MRO facility at São Paulo Guarulhos, Brazil's Investment Partnerships Minister Wellington Moreira Franco has said.

"An American Airlines executive told me today the company does not share the pessimistic view of Brazil in the media and believes Brazil's market will grow strongly," he told Reuters.

Moreira Franco valued the investment at USD100 million. AA currently has MRO facilities at Tulsa International, Oklahoma, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, New York La Guardia, and Pittsburgh International, Pennsylvania.
