Kalitta Charters II (K5, Detroit Willow Run) has taken delivery of its first B737-800(BDSF) under a CMI agreement with DHL Worldwide Express after a converted N318FL (msn 28318) was ferried from Naples Capodichino via Reykjavik Keflavik and Sault Ste. Marie International to Detroit Willow Run on July 9, 2022. The 22.3-year-old jet, formerly operated by SAS Scandinavian Airlines, was converted into a freighter by Atitech under the Israel Aerospace Industries supplemental type certificate.

Kalitta Charters II said it was not yet sure when the aircraft would enter revenue service but stressed that it would add more B737 freighters going forward. The carrier's fleet currently comprises Boeing equipment namely four B727-200(F)s, four B737-300(F)s, and seven B737-400(SF)s, the ch-aviation fleets module shows, of which it operates three B727s and six B737-400s for DHL.

The integrator's B737NG fleet in the US comprises five B737-800(BDSF)s and two B737-800(SF)s operated under a CMI framework by iAero Airways (WQ, Greensboro Piedmont Triad International).
