Kalitta Charters II (K5, Detroit Willow Run) has added its first B757-200(PCF) converted freighter, representing the largest aircraft operated by the Michigan-based Part 121 on-demand cargo carrier.
"With roughly double the payload of our Boeing 737s and the range to support longer nonstop legs, it expands what we can move on a single aircraft for oversized freight, time-sensitive cargo, and mission-critical deliveries," the company said in a statement on social media.
According to ADS-B data, N757CK (msn 22611), was ferried from Dothan to Detroit Willow Run on September 9, 2026. The 40.8-year-old airframe had been stored at Greensboro Piedmont Triad International since January 2026 and Dothan since May, while registered as N783SP with previous operator Samaritan's Purse.
The aircraft was delivered new to Eastern Air Lines (1926) in 1985, and afterwards flew with Air 2000, which merged with Thomson Airways in 2006; Air Atlanta Icelandic; XL Airways UK, which went out of business in 2008; Varig Log, which ceased operations in 2012; DHL International Aviation Middle East, since rebranded as DHL Air (Bahrain); and Pacific Air Express (Australia) before entering service with Samaritan's Purse in 2022.
According to ch-aviation data, Kalitta Charters II now operates a fleet of 38 aircraft, comprising one B737-300(BDSF), four B737-300(F)s, ten B737-400(SF)s, four B737-800(BDSF)s, one B757-200(PCF), one Falcon 20(C5)(F), four Falcon 20(DC)s, one Falcon 20(F5)(F), one Falcon 20C(F), one Falcon 20D(F), one Learjet 35(F), seven Learjet 35A(F)s, one Learjet 36(F)(R/X), and one Learjet 36A(F)(R/X).
