EW Discover (Frankfurt International) will temporarily assume some of the transatlantic long-haul routes operated by its parent Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) as it struggles with a shortage of available widebody aircraft.

AeroRoutes reports that the Lufthansa Group leisure unit will operate the following routes from Frankfurt International, normally plied by the mainline airline:

In addition, EW Discover will operate the Frankfurt-Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson route under Lufthansa's LH code, as reported earlier.

The increased utilisation related to the taking over of Lufthansa's route has forced EW Discover to defer or suspend some of its planned in-house services from Munich and Frankfurt, including those to Punta Cana, Cancún, Marsa Alam, Hurghada, and Malé.
