Scoot (TR, Singapore Changi) has firmed up an order for nine E190-E2s, issuing a statement this week saying that it has signed a lease agreement with Azorra Aviation, and deliveries will start in 2024. Three months ago, the two parties signed a letter of intent (LOI) regarding the aircraft.
Azorra will supply the planes from its existing backlog with Embraer, and Scoot will become the first Singaporean carrier to operate the type. Scoot, which is a part of the Singapore Airlines Group, expects deliveries of the nine Embraers to be complete by the end of 2025. Leslie Thng, Scoot’s CEO, said the lease "allows us to continue operating a modern and fuel-efficient fleet, and support our network growth strategy by serving thinner routes to non-metro destinations out of Singapore."
The Embraers will join Scoot's 55-strong fleet, which includes ten B737-8s, ten B737-9s, twenty A320-200s, six A320-200Ns, and nine A321-200Ns. Aside from the E190-E2s, Scoot's order book comprises three B787-8s, one B787-9, twelve A320-200Ns, and six A321-200Ns, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.
