Cyprus Airways (1947) (Larnaca) along with British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) and Air France (AF, Paris CDG) have all moved to alter their current flight timetables to Beirut citing the situation in Syria where the US and its allies are considering military strikes following an alleged chemical weapons attack on civilians by the Assad regime. Thus far, Cyprus Airways has moved its 20h30L evening flight from Larnaca to the Lebanese capital to a 05h30L departure to avoid an overnight stay there. Air France has tentatively rescheduled one of its two daily flights to Beirut to depart Paris CDG at 23h30L and fly to Athens before leaving for Beirut 3 hours later. The flight now arrives in Beirut at 09h00L. Meanwhile, British Airways has denied media reports that it had cancelled flights to Beirut as circulated by some news and media outlet and reiterated that its flights were still operating as per usual. However, it is understood that for safety's sakes, the aircraft, after arriving from London Heathrow, is ferried to Larnaca (crew inclusive) to overnight before returning the following day to operate the inbound flight to London.
