Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) has taken delivery of its first of four B787-8s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows S2-AJS (msn 40126) was delivered direct from Everett to Dhaka on Saturday, August 18.

The remaining three aircraft are due to arrive in November this year, followed by October and November 2019.

The Bangladeshi state-owned carrier has since confirmed it will start B787 operations on September 1 with crew training flights to Kuala Lumpur International and Singapore Changi. Thereafter, it will be deployed on medium haul routes starting October 16. Initially the first aircraft will operate to Doha Hamad International 4x weekly (with one weekly flight operating via Chittagong) and to Muscat 3x weekly. Then starting February 17, 2019, the aircraft is scheduled to be exclusively used to Muscat 6x weekly with some flights operating via Chittagong and Sylhet.

Biman's B787s feature a total of 271 seats with 24 in business class and 247 in economy class.
