Solomons - Solomon Airlines (IE, Honiara) launched flights to Lomlom in the easternmost part of the archipelago, becoming the only carrier to operate to the recently reopened airfield.
The Solomonian carrier said in a press statement that flights from Honiara will initially operate 1x weekly but with a view to increase the frequency in the future. Services will be on board the carrier's only Dash 8-100, H4-SOL (msn 289).
Lomlom has thus become Solomons' twenty-second domestic destination.
