SkyWest Airlines (OO, Salt Lake City) will restart daily services from Cheyenne to Denver International on November 11, 2020, over seven months after the sole scheduled route to the Wyomingite capital was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The flights will be operated with a CRJ200 on behalf of United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) under the United Express brand.

While Cheyenne is located just 145 kilometres north of Denver International, Wendy Volk, president of the Cheyenne Regional Air Focus Team, told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that demand for flights to the Coloradan gateway had exceeded expectations until the pandemic forced the airline to suspend the route in early April this year.

Volk added that there was no clarity as to if, let alone when, the other route previously served by SkyWest, 2x daily to Dallas/Fort Worth on behalf of American Airlines, would restart.

Although Cheyenne is the state capital, it does not currently see any scheduled air services. The ch-aviation schedules module indicates that eight other airports in Wyoming are served on a scheduled basis, with the bulk of the flights (71.7% of the entire weekly capacity out of Wyoming) served through Jackson Hole, WY.
