Air Astana (KC, Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev) has finalised an order for five B787-9s with a further ten options directly from Boeing. The deal, initially announced as tentative in November 2025, comes on top of a pre-existing commitment for three units of the same type from Air Lease Corporation. Deliveries are scheduled between 2032 and 2035. The airline retains a firm order for three B787-8s but has hinted that these may not be taken up and would be replaced with the -9 orders.
