LUMINAIR (LUA, Hamburg) has inducted its first Falcon 7X, the company announced. The move follows plans to introduce longer-range aircraft, outlined by chief executive David Bergold in an exclusive interview with ch-aviation in 2025.

The 2009-built trijet, D-ALIN (msn 54), began operations under LUMINAIR's 'LUA' code on March 8 with a flight between Hamburg and Paris Le Bourget, followed by a leg to Larnaca. Configured for up to 14 passengers, the aircraft has been added to the carrier's air operator's certificate (AOC), secured in late 2024.

According to LUMINAIR's website, the company plans to operate several aircraft of this type, each with a unique configuration. The total number of Falcon 7X jets planned remains undisclosed.

This Falcon 7X was previously operated by VistaJet (Germany) between late 2022 and February 12, 2026, when it flew for the final time under the carrier's 'VJH' code, between Bordeaux Mérignac and Hamburg.

VistaJet Germany's fleet continues to include four additional Falcon 7X jets, alongside other Embraer Executive Jets and Textron Aviation aircraft.

LUMINAIR's Falcon 7X joins four Dassault Aviation trijets, all Falcon 900LX. Three were factory-new, including the first Falcon 900LX inducted in September, while another 2023-built unit was pre-owned. In late 2025, the carrier secured a foreign air carrier permit to operate charter services to the United States.

LUMINAIR further operates two Citation XLS and three Citation XLS+ aircraft. The current fleet stands at 10 aircraft, though the company's website notes plans to expand the total to 15 jets, including those already in service and scheduled for addition.

Within the Citation-series fleet, a 13.5-year-old Citation XLS+ added in January, D-CJFK (msn 560-6114), and a 2008-built Citation XLS, D-CRSM (msn 560-5801), have yet to enter service.

The Citation XLS was previously registered in Italy as I-MDEA and operated by Sardinian Sky Service (SSR, Cagliari). Added in mid-2020, the jet remained active under the 'SSR' code until June 23, 2025, flying between Milan Malpensa and Mönchengladbach.

Sardinian Sky Service no longer operates the Citation XLS variant. The carrier's current fleet includes a newer Citation XLS+, following the phase-out of a 2010-built, San Marino-registered unit, T7-SSH (msn 560-6055), in February 2025. Sardinian Sky Service further operates a Citation Jet.
