Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) will reduce its summer capacity by around 1% in terms of available seat-kilometres, or around 20,000 flights, as a result of the abrupt closure of feeder carrier Lufthansa CityLine. The airline has already implemented some cuts, including the suspension of services from Frankfurt International to Bydgoszcz Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Rzeszow Jasionka, and Stavanger. It has also consolidated operations on ten other routes to ensure they retain a connection to a Lufthansa Group hub. "The medium-term route planning for the coming months is being revised considering the capacity reduction and will be published in late April or early May," the group said. Meanwhile, it will also wet lease an E195 from Helvetic Airways to operate flights from Munich starting on May 1, 2026. Helvetic has a longstanding ACMI partnership with Swiss, but has thus far not operated for other Lufthansa Group carriers.
