Air Tanzania (TC, Dar es Salaam) has completed maintenance hangar capacity increase works at Kilimanjaro, which included both renovations and new construction. The hangar at the facility can now host up to five aircraft at once, which compares to the annual capacity the facility had in 2024/2025. The update also includes new lightning systems, improvements to workspace for engineers and new MRO training equipment.

The hangar capacity boost is part of a wider government investment of TZS283.05 billion shillings (USD109 million) in aviation in Tanzania that is supposed to help the flag carrier cut maintenance costs.
