Thai Airways International (TG, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) has taken delivery of its first factory-new B787-9 powered by General Electric GEnx engines, HS-TWE (msn 65111), lessor AerCap announced in a press release. HS-TWE will be the fifth B787-9 in Thai Airways' fleet, but only the third of the type powered by GE engines, and the first of these three added by the carrier as a brand-new unit. According to ch-aviation data, all of the carrier's B787-9s are leased from AerCap. Thai Airways also operates eight B787-8s, which are likewise powered by a mix of Rolls-Royce and GE engines.
