SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) will add 40 widebody aircraft, including a firm order for eighteen new A330-900Ns directly from Airbus, and twelve A330-300s for near-term growth. The plan also comprises ten options for additional A330-900Ns, chief executive Anko van der Werff disclosed at a press conference. The airline said that the deal was the largest single investment in its history, and would support the long-haul network growth plan, without disclosing whether the aircraft would expand the fleet based at Copenhagen Kastrup, Stockholm Arlanda, or Oslo Gardermoen. The airline's current widebody fleet comprises eight A330-300s and six A350-900s.
