Stewart Island Flights (Invercargill) will benefit from a NZD640,000 New Zealand dollar (USD375,000) government loan to South East Air (Invercargill), the owner of the aircraft operated by the carrier, to refurbish and return one aircraft to service. The work will increase its available fleet from four to five units.

New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority data shows four aircraft currently registered to South East Air: two BN-2s, one Cessna (single piston) 185 Skywagon, and one Piper (single piston) PA-32. The loan forms part of New Zealand's NZD30 million (USD17.5 million) regional infrastructure fund supporting vulnerable local air services. Stewart Island Flights is the sole year-round scheduled commercial operator linking Stewart Island with the mainland.
