Lufthansa Cargo (LH, Frankfurt International) has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of LUG aircargo handling GmbH from Dettmer Group as part of its growth strategy. The deal, whose value was not disclosed, provides the Lufthansa Group cargo carrier with immediate access to additional handling capacity in Germany, complementing its existing ground infrastructure, which is being modernised under its EUR600 million euro (USD698 million) LCCevo programme.

LUG aircargo’s facilities include around 50,000 square metres of covered warehouse space across Frankfurt International, Munich, and Hamburg, and the company will continue to operate independently, retaining its structures and client relationships. Completion remains subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals.
