Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) Irish engine MRO division, Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI) based near Dublin International, is considering closing as declining revenues and shrinking international market opportunities take bite. In light of an extensive review of operations, LTAI says it has begun immediate negotiations with its three trade unions (TEEU, SIPTU, UNITE) and existing employee representatives. Wolfgang Mörig, Managing Director of LTAI, noted that the increased quality and efficiency of new generation aircraft engines had reduced the need for overhaul.
